Bathurst is nasty going up and down - I take the sidewalk going up the hill, and risk my life going down onroad, and the road is rough. Christie is an easier hill and traffic.

Oh COME ON! I take that hill into and out of the core all the time. It's steep, but definately not an HC climb of sort. The road is definately rough, but the worst are the street car tracks at the bottom of the hill. Sometimes you are killing down the hill at 40+ and if you are running a 25mm or less it is dangerous.

hey..there's another Vic around here.... :)

I've never taken bathurst up the hill, but I once took it down to College from St. Clair this past January. Didn't seem too bad, but it was the weekend so maybe there was less traffic?

When I go down hills or go fast I *always* take the lane. Much safer that way.

What's an "HC climb"?

hors categorie. it's the highest rated climbs in a bike race. infamous climbs such as alpe d'huez and stelvio.

Those of us up on St. Clair call this THE hill because it is the biggest obstacle between town and home. The biggest drag about this hill is not the steepness, but the sucky air quality...especially at rush hour those solid canyon walls keep it all stewing.
