Major rescue effort under way

A major rescue effort is under way at the CBC building on Front St. in Toronto this afternoon. Falling ice from the building's rooftop has trapped cars inside the parking garage. Firefighters are readying their attempt to rush in and free the vehicles. The owner's of the cars are being sheltered across the street at Starbucks. Grief counsellors have been brought in to comfort them as they watch the drama unfold outside.

**UPDATE 03/05/07** CNN is reporting that cars were injured today by falling ice from the CN tower. In response Toronto police have closed sections of the Gardiner nearest the tower.
