Another Bike Lane To Nowhere

I hate when they do that. Not only do they make the cyclist ride in the gutter, but then the cyclist is suddenly faced with having to merge out of that lane.
Having no bike lane in that situation would put the cyclist in the correct lane position as soon as s/he crosses the intersection.
Partial patchworks of bike facilities suck. They gotta get it right....
Maybe part of the problem is that Joe is waiting for the turn lane he added into Liberty Village to be installed, but the real problem is how the cost of that is coming out of the bike lane budget - it's almost enough to keep the yellow bike program going (c. $70,000) but we can't ask the development fees for Liberty Village to pay for the changes to the road system I suppose. And if he tries to use the bikelane budget to help pay for the local Front St., and that's between $90 and $130 mill as a guesstimate I'd suggest nixing the proposed bike lanes there and trying instead somewhere else. Even Bloor St.!

What's up with that? The city looking for make work projects? Is the bike lane supposed to extend further in the future?
