Charlie’s Freewheels is proud to announce the opening of its first shop, Charlie’s Bike Shop!
Come celebrate with an afternoon BBQ and party.
There will be a raffle, a silent auction, some speakers, a sideshow and an opportunity to check out our space and to admire our hard work!
Charlies Bike Shop has been a long time coming dream of the youth board and organizers of Charlies FreeWheels.
The idea for the shop from the beginning was to provide a sustainable form of funding for the FreeWheels program as well as to provide a place for youth from the Regent Park community to gain skills and employment. All proceeds from the shop go back into the running FreeWheels and the hiring and training of youth to run and expand the programming. Freewheels will be housed in Charlies Bike Shop.
Charlie’s Bike Shop is the result of a collaborative effort between a handful of the youth who have graduated from Freewheels, and the adult mentors who have started up the program itself. With the time they have given out of their busy days, be it being busy from high school, university studies or their careers, the Bike shop has been made possible from their energy and time, as well as support from the community.
