A little bit of rubber or tar around them would be nice even if it's just for few days. Same goes for the cutouts which were popular over the last few years all over town. Or even sign warning cyclists of an uneven/dangerous surface. The point being here that road engineers/contractors habitually do not consider cyclist when working on roads.
but seriously, I live in that man hole and this pic was taken during the recent resurfacing that followed the new tracks being laid. There will be a bit more of this during summer 2005 esp west of here.
Also there are those nasty temporary curb ramps into construction site's , I found those worse than raised man hole covers........... P.S. this is Friday:)
