Great, now everyone knows how to do it! ;) 10-15 seconds versus how long to jack open a U-lock?"2x4s: they're not just for angry mob justice anymore!"
makes ya sick that they never tested the ring posts in the first place ( WASTE OF OUR MONEY )
Does the ring need to be cracked for it to work? I'm hoping that's the case, and I can just avoid the ones that have been hit by cars and snowplows in the past.
I think the city meant well. And the ring post program is a big success if yet not quite perfect. It is quite unclear how many ring posts were subject to vandalism of this kind and how manybikes were stolen. I see more broken locks and leftover front wheelsrather than broken ring posts as I ride.My two cents.
I'm wondering if they all shouldn't be "2x4'ed" to save the bikes.
