I don't know if this is in Toronto but!if it is that guy sure looks like a dude that would hang around my work 85% sure . I pass him fairly often too on queen street East of Moss Park where all the stolen bikes are sold in front of the apartment buildings
no I work farther up but that guy hangs around the Eaton Center and in near Trinity church too he is normaly on a bike and you'll see him at the apartment buildings on Queen street east of Sherborne where they sell stolen bikes right off the sidewalk and there is a pick up truck with bikes in it at differnt times there aswell ..you'll also see him asking for change at corner of young and queen mostly doing that at night
oh another thing most stolen bikes from downtown end up at I think they call him igor, his chop shop is at queen west and is across from a park I forget the parks name but it is north of the X
What you mean is that Toronto is the bike theft capital of the world & pawn shops like Igor's (of which there are hundreds) are only an indication of that. If police wanted to do something about bike theft in the city they would. There is a root to this problem that only police have the power to do something about. At least a place like Igor's doesn't hide anything. It's right in front of your face. But it is a result of the problem, not the problem itself. The bike has already been stolen by the time it gets there!
I came across a story on another blog where a person whose bike had been stolen found the bike being driven in to one the the chop shops and to her (?) credit, she took a picture of the guy...looks quite familiar to the person pictured in this blog...

...scoll down...the picture is pretty obvious as it's the only photo that is not of a bike or busted lock.

Yes, this was taken in downtown Toronto, on John Street near Wellington.
Do you work near there?
