Do tell what is going on with Bikeshare. The situation seems very unclear.

Sadly Bikeshare is folding after 5 successful years.
The program needed 80,000 to keep running for another year and neither a private nor public sponsor wanted to support BikeShare. Two long-time staffers have been laid off and the bikes are being stored at CBN for now. Boggles the mind.
There are efforts on the way to reincarnate BIkeShare as new bike program but nothing firm so far, just ideas that are being explored.

BikeShare is no more.

Hrmmm... that's quite sad. A great idea but I can see how the margins are tight, though, particularly with the number that seem to go AWOL and the repair bills when they're vandalized...

$80,000 does not seem like very much in the big picture The price of a couple of the Hybrid cars the city is touting as a solution to climate change. This world is fukd.

80,000 dollars is loose change as far as urban transportation dollars go... So much for community!
