Some of them are realistic, but don't you have any positive predictions for 2007?

Sadly, people will still drive everywhere even if gas hits $2 per litre.

PS Kennsignton is positive as is cyclists further organizing. The downfall of the Gardiner could also be positive, depending on your point of view. The 5 kms of bike lanes is 5 times more than in 2005, and 2 and half times more than in 2006.

Otherwise there is nothing more positive on the horizon. If you take into account what has happened in the last 5 or so years in Toronto these predictions are probably more positive than what can realistically could be expected. That said, all of the positive predictions will be driven by community groups, not City Hall.

We are already starting the year off with the loss of Bikeshare.

Darren makes a good point... we can't rely on City Hall... we have to encourage change from the bottom up. I don't mean anything revolutionary either... just helping get more Torontonians on their bikes... which in turn helps City Hall pay attention to it. :)

TTC cash fares are already at $2.75, by the way. :)
