Right around the same time Tino asked me to contribute to BLD (Thanks, Tino!) another friend sent around this link to a cycling blog from Copenhagen:

I have been thinking about the question of bike style ever since. Does a Toronto bike style exist? Or has it been crushed under the heavy weight of the omni-present, monolithic, ever-so-practical, MEC reflective jacket? How about some serious Italian style like this gentleman captured on a Sunday morning on the Piazza della signoria in Florence...

Sporting a toupee and chops no less.
Yay, Hannah!!!!
Interesting. Anytime I travel I compare other cities' cyclists with ours and see distinctions but cannot really put my finger on exactly what the Toronto Style is.
There was a cool article on this in Momentum as well.
I was told the other day by a non cyclist who was looking at the momentum article that T.O. could never be like coppenhaagen because the bike style here is 'Mountain Co-Op'.
I wanted to argue that that was a generalization, except I was wearing a mountain co-op shirt at the time...
I think I'm going to buy myself a non-goretex winter jacket this year.
