A visitor to this blog sent this anonymously. I have already seen hummers parked in the
Bike Lane. It's all about status, I suppose. But do you like this approach? Not me.
Anyways, the City has a nice full colour brochure on how to deal with cars parked in
Bicycle Lanes. Bottom line: take your life into your own hands and go around.
Or, you could call Parking Enforcement: 416-808-6600. Good Luck!

Nice site. Clearly you have a passion and a talent.
Thank you. Makes my day.
;-)
If you don't get any satisfaction from parking enforcement where you live, you could try to organize a mass parking of bikes in the lane next to an offending vehicle. Or maybe lock some old bikes to it.
We did try a few things like a guaranteed bike lane, a bloc party and
various direct actions. Seemed the only thing that worked was riding up beside the driver and saying:
"Hey, the cops are giving out tickets to drivers today for parking in a bike lane. Just a heads up."
They usually drove off after saying;
'Thanks'.
well it does sound grosse but I just leave a big GOB on the driver window when I pass the cars parked in the bike lane.Steeker
I never hold out much hope that parking enforcement will do anything.. but I am sure to thank them if I see them ticketing a car parked in the bike lane, I'm sure they don't get enough praise in their day :)
Well, the official story goes like this. Cops are not motivated to do anything and prefer to leave the whole thing to the parking authority who already risk their lives just for giving out tickets:
"On Thursday, January 20, 2005 at approximately 12:15 p.m., Parking Enforcement Officer Kevin Graham was patrolling Parliament Street in 51 Division when he saw a vehicle parked illegally.
He issued the vehicle a parking ticket.
The accused, visibly upset, returned to his vehicle and started to confront the officer. The accused then struck the officer."
My solution would be to have a couple of dedicated bike cops riding
along College, St. George and other bike lanes handing out tickets which
should be much higher. Or even better make bike lanes tag and tow.
Expanding foam in the tailpipe.
Print out fake tickets. hahaha. Put something clever in the small print.
