That's what some people got, a ticket for not having a rear light or similar. Never mind the old 'did not put foot on the ground while stopping...' ;-(
You can go to old CityHall and fight the tickets for no lights during the day and the foot on the ground , THAT is police harassment plus got to speakers corner and the other news stations

I heard from a woman that was charged over $200 for improper lighting. I guess that's about $90 per light?
You can fight the tickets but it means you have to take time off work for many people. Plus you might end up at the Courts around Yonge and Sheppard or elsewhere. Depends on where the ticket was written. I showed at court a few years ago for running a red light and the court threw it out when the cop didn't show.
There were all kinds of issues over the last 5 years with 'Cycle Right'. I think Sgt. Bowman and those involved in 'Cycle Safely' have been listening to our complaints. Hopefully, the harrassment of cyclists is over. I sure hope so.
Of course our cops can be carrupt like our politicians, but there are truly some dorks on bikes that are dangers to more than themselves. Ticketing may be the only way to help them learn.

I watched yesterday and today two women on bikes go through red lights and the cops were there and did nothing !! :~|
Improper lighting in the middle of the day? I thought lighting was required only if you used the bike after dark.
