Just the other day, I had some considerate young driver with a nice crew cut inform me that, "Don't you know, roads are for cars and bikes got no right to be on them" and kindly complimented me by calling me "treehugger!" before he sped off.
Last night a police officer who told me his badge number was 11000008 informed me cyclists have no business riding in the middle of a traffic lane and he would happily ticket me for doing so. Oddly, this comment was prompted by seeking his input on how to deal with aggressive drivers who pass too close. I assume that suggests assault with a weapon is entirely legal when that weapon is a motorvehicle and the object of the assault is a cyclist.

Yup, if you want to kill someone, use four wheels, and you've already got a getaway vehicle (though two wheels might be quicker).
